Need-A-Break Services needs help delivering a major donation that can seriously help someone in need. We need someone to provide moving needs for a large amount of furniture. This furniture is being donated by an elderly widow and will be given to a deserving gift recipient. It is in need of being moved from the North Seattle area to Tacoma. We need a volunteer to provide this task.

Announcing a "Holiday Break" for Those in Need

Need-A-Break is providing a "Holiday Break" program to bless families in need of a little extra help during the holiday season. This provides a special holiday gift to someone who needs a break during the holiday season. For many, the holiday season highlights their lack and inability to celebrate. This program may provide a gift card to allow them to purchase gifts for their family, a gift basket, or other similar items. Applications are accepted until December 11th, 2007 and can be found on our website by clicking on "Gift Requests".

We NEED your support to spread the word to those who may be in need of such a gift and also to sponsor this program financially. Donations can be designated to the "Holiday Break" program and sent in to our office.

Volunteer Opportunity-Minor Home Repair Job Needed

Need-A-Break Services needs a skilled volunteer (or volunteers) to help one of our gift recipients in Seattle, WA. This woman recently lost her partner to a random act of violence that killed him in his front yard. She is now left to raise a family as a single mother. The project consists of numerous minor home repair jobs that were left undone by the man. General handyman and/or carpentry skills are necessary for this project. Need-A-Break can provide all tools and materials necessary for this job. This project needs to be completed as soon as possible.

Internship Opportunity

Need-A-Break Services is accepting applications for an internship position at our organization.

This internship will consist of various roles and responsibilities in and out of the office including:
Event coordination
Application processing and evaluations
Systems managing
Client relations
Marketing
Office organization

Qualifications for internship:
Must be at least a junior or senior in college
Must have good people skills as well as office skills
Must be self-driven and organized in order to work on projects independently if necessary
Must have passion for helping others and familiarity with the Christian community

Thanks to the group of students that provided yard cleanup for our deserving gift recipient in Edgewood. However, she is still in need of help on her deck and ramp in order to make sure it is safe for her and her wheelchair. Below is the original posting:

Need-A-Break Services needs a few volunteers to help one of our gift recipients in Edgewood, WA. This older, disabled woman needs someone to pressure wash and stain her wheelchair ramp and deck. Need-A-Break will provide all tools and materials necessary for this job. This project needs to be completed as soon as possible before the weather becomes too cold.
